Courtesy Aircraft is proud to offer this unique Warbird restoration
project. There remain very few unrestored Corsair aircraft in the world and
less than 35 flying examples.
HISTORY
Bu # 92303 was purchased surplus in 1958 for a reported $3000 and
ferried to St. Louis Mo, for use a “wind machine” by Cupples Products. It
was used to test glass wall panels for high rise buildings. In 1994 the
aircraft was sold and has passed through several private owners and is now
offered for sale.
FUSELAGE
The aft fuselage was removed during
use and was scrapped. The owner has obtained another rear section to be
used during restoration.
CENTER SECTION
The center section is complete
and will require installation of new wing attach points which are included.
WINGS
The original wings were scrapped and a
set of repairable wings are included.
LANDING GEAR
The landing gear and gear doors
are included.
CONTROLS
Flaps and control surfaces included
will need to be overhauled.
INSTRUMENTS
Some instruments are included. Missing items are standard AN types and
are easily obtainable.
ENGINE
The stock -8 engine has been removed
from the aircraft and is included. Cowling, engine mount and ducting are
included.
PROPELLER
The original 3 blade Hamilton Standard
33D50 prop is included.
