SHOWMANSHIP AND MARKETING OUTREACH:
The B-17 is, by a considerable margin, the most significant aircraft outreach program available on a national basis. Each year it:

  • Visits 53 cities
  • Flies 320 hours and 500 missions
  • Has over 20,000 people take a ground tour through the airplane
  • Directly recruits many new museum members
  • Enables volunteers to become involved
  • Volunteer hours contributed: 31,800
  • Unique web visitors to aircraft ops pages: 383,712
  • Newspaper impressions (measured): 7,932,865
  • Broadcast media impressions (estimated): 20 million
