Roland V. Hill was an instructor assigned to Bainbridge from June to December 1942.  We have copies of Roland’s flight logs, and he showed just over 20 hours in BT-15’s between August 42 and January 43. In Jan 43 Roland was transferred to Hendricks Field, Sebring Fl where he instructed in B-17’s.  SN6720 went on to serve in the Air Corp until June 1945 when it sold surplus for $200.  The aircraft went through about 7 owners before the current owner purchased in 2009 and has flown it about 1200 hours. It has been hangered for 49 years and is in excellent condition. On the 80th anniversary of the delivery of 6720, It was flown back to Bainbridge. The town is still using hangers from 1942 and 6720 was pushed inside for an overnight stay.  The next morning the ROTC group was in hand and the current owner explained the history behind the airport and aircraft and then called Rolands son -Jack up to the plane. This is when pulled out a vinyl transfer and placed Capt. Roland V. Hills name on the side.  He still flies with the aircraft today.
